These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Rethread mobile application and related services (the “Service”) operated by Rethread (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Rethread is a personal productivity app that helps you capture, organize, and search life context (notes, threads, people, tasks, and reminders). Some features use on-device and cloud-based AI. A paid subscription is required to use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Rethread offers auto-renewing subscriptions, which may include:
Billing is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly by us. By subscribing, you also agree to the store’s terms and payment policies.
Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We do not process store refunds directly.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and your active subscription.
You may not:
You retain ownership of content you create in the Service (notes, captures, threads, etc.).
You grant us a limited license to host, process, and back up your content only to operate the Service (including optional cloud backup, AI features, and sync you enable).
You are responsible for your content and must not upload material that is illegal, infringing, or harmful.
The Service may use AI (including Google Gemini via Firebase) to structure notes, answer questions, and power search. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on the Service for medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice.
Optional cloud backup stores your data in Google Firebase tied to your account. You can turn backup on or off in the app. Voice recordings and some local files may not be included in backup (as described in the app).
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The Service uses third parties including Google (Sign-In, Firebase, Play), Apple (Sign-In, App Store), RevenueCat (subscriptions), and Google AI. Their terms and privacy policies apply to those services.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater, except where law prohibits such limitation.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time. Cancel your subscription through the App Store or Google Play. You may delete your account in the app where that option is provided.
We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes may be communicated in the app where appropriate.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country apply.
